When we bought our house in the summer of 2007, its curb appeal was nice enough, if not particularly remarkable. However, when autumn came (and last year, it came unusually late), the landscape revealed a captivating splendor beyond what we could have imagined. There is beauty in nature in every season, but the glorious palette of fall is truly a thing of wonder, and our home is never lovelier than at the peak of autumn in Cincinnati.
Here is a quick flashback to 2007… The Climbing Tree that graces our front lawn had just turned colors; I shot these and made enlargements for the walls of my daughter’s hot pink and orange bedroom (they still hang in there, although looking at them, it always amazes me how much she has grown in just a little over a year):

On my recent trip up to my hometown to visit my sister and her new baby, we took my wedding gown out of storage (storage = a bag under the bed in the guest room at my parents’ house). When I was about my daughter’s age, I remember trying on my mother’s wedding gown. Somewhere there is a photo. If I find it, I should post it here. My daughter got a kick out of the experience but declared, “This dress is soooo heavy! I’m not wearing anything this heavy when I get married.”
