the most happy fella

I’d had the chance to do this cutie pie’s one year portraits back in May, and he was just the sweetest, smiliest little boy. It was wonderful to get to work with him again, and see how much he’d changed in just six months (as they are inclined to do, especially at this age). When my babysitting arrangements fell through, my client was kind enough to invite my own children to come along for the session. My daughter loved having the opportunity to accompany me on a job, and my son made a new friend, too!

This bride-to-be and I actually have a unique connection though a friend of her parents… namely, my mother. Though we’d never met in person prior to the engagement session, Lauren and I are alumni of the same high school, and my mother was her bus driver when she was a schoolgirl. For their engagement photos, Lauren and Shawn chose locations that had special significance to them; the campus of their alma mater, Miami University, and the nearby Historic Black Pugh’s Mill Covered Bridge. We were lucky to have a perfect fall evening, with mild weather, leaves in glorious color and a vibrant pink and amber sunset.
